Using Disqus

By | December 17, 2007

Quick note that I’ve installed Disqus on this blog.

If you have a personal account with Disqus, they’ll aggregate all of your comments into one place from blogs they’re connected to. And, if you add it to your blog as a plugin for your comments, you can be part of the ecosystem.

Gathering comments into one place is really cool and not easy. It’s going to allow much more granular messaging among people via their comments. Disqus seems to be doing a really good job at it.

Here's how Disqus describes what they do:

Disqus is a new, distributed comment system for blogs and websites. The comment system works hand-in-hand with a dedicated forum backend, so the conversations are never fragmented. Posting on websites plugged into Disqus means you'll be able to track your comments and replies, follow friends, and maintain a reputable identity across websites.
