No Pitch Necessary

It’s that thinslice of ads, the ads that aren’t exactly ads, that we need to be paying some attention to, and giving a chance.

This one from Nike gives you the soft pitch. And it wouldn’t really work if it was pointing you to a site with a hard sell, e.g. $125 running shoes.

But, instead, it’s pointing you to Nike+, which is a running club . . . an actual running club where you can track individual goals and also go out for runs with others. Wait, that’s sorta helpful, right?

So while Firebrand goes down in flames, these new little bits of media help you make a connection with something that’s actually pretty interesting and personal.
